It’s been 10 years since UTCT started and we are still amazed at how it’s grown from a tiny trail race with 360 runners across 3 events in year one to 2800 runners across 6 events in 2024.
There’s been unreal support and belief in this collective dream since day one from everyone who has participated, volunteered and returned in one way or another to support this coming together of the trail community at large.
The event has evolved every year and continues to set the standard both locally and internationally where elites and every other runner are considered and valued equally. The true hero of this event is the local community who have taken RMB UTCT to heart and represented it at every level. Without this, we would have a few banners and fences but no heart and soul which define what RMB UTCT is.
We are a little under 11 weeks to go until we kick off the 10th running of RMB UTCT and we are already feeling the rising energy. This year promises to be a special one where we not only honour the race’s founder Nic Bornman, but celebrate our sport, our community, this City and especially Table Mountain which gives us so much.
