EXPLORER 23KM

UTCT's 23km is a gateway to ultra-trail running. Starting at 9:00 am on Friday 25/11, the 23km together with the 55km, kick start the weekend festival of UTCT running.

Runners will start at Constantia Sports Complex and head out towards the start of the Alphen Trail and the greenbelts of Constantia. From the Aid Station at Alphen Trail, they will climb through the technical sections of Cecilia and Newlands Forests followed by a steep drop down into the University of Cape Town's upper campus. The final 10km requires digging deep with an intense climb to get up to the Blockhouse and lower traverse of Devils Peak. Reaching it marks the home stretch, with the reward of incredible views of the City, the Atlantic Ocean, Table Mountain and Lions Head.
