A GUIDE TO SUPPORTING RMB UTCT

The support along the route is a major part of what the event is all about and what it means to the community.



Please read the following carefully and brief your support crews accordingly.


This Google Map highlights the Aid Stations at which supporters ARE allowed to give aid to participants. Please note: Volunteer & Staff-only Check Points and Aid Stations are off-limits to supports and crew and can result in participant penalities.



HOUT BAY AID STATION

Join us with Ledlenser and Garmin


The Hout Bay spectator point is based just opposite the South Yeaster Bakery, a popular spot founded and run by local trail runner Brode Gleeson and his sister. It's a great spot to grab a pastry while supporting and soak up the coastal hype. In 2023, Hout Bay become an iconic spot for unicorns to welcome PT55 runners. We expect 2024 to feature even more energy.


There will be ice, blankets and refreshments for the runners.

ALPHEN AID STATION

Join us with adidas TERREX and Jack Black


Join the festivities with the adidas TERREX team, complete with their TERREX T-rexes and demo footwear. Enjoy waffles and ice cream, Jack Black's beer, Bootlegger coffee, burgers and pizzas.


There will be chill zones for crew and spectators, a big-screen TV to watch the live broadcast, and live music on the Saturday. Important to note: parking has been organised at SARDA on Brommersvlei, and Ave le Seur will be closed to parking.


Alphen Trail Aid Station is just down the the EX23 startline, so grab your coffee and support the first fast and fierce kilometres of the race on Saturday morning.

UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN AID STATION

Join us with RMB and Red Bull


UCT Aid Station by day showcases the University of Cape Town, a prestitous location in the heart of the Mother City. Near the tennis courts, get a glimpse of the university campus.


UCT Aid Station by night features the stage lit up for runners, with RMB's Light Tunnel.


With a viewing deck and live streaming on the big screen, settle into this seconding zone with Bootlegger, Jack Black and Red Bull. This is the final Aid Station, 10km from the Race Village, the last opportunity to support your runner before they make their way up the Blockhouse and back home.

RACE VILLAGE, GARDEN'S RUGBY CLUB


The finish line, and Race Village of RMB UTCT, Garden's Rugby Club buzzes with energy as runners celebrate completing their race.


The Race Village will have food and drink with Jack Black's Brewing Co, Journey’s End wine, and Bootlegger Coffee Co.

Support crews must abide by all rules and directives of RMB Ultra-trail Cape Town® as set out on this website and all other official RMB Ultra-trail Cape Town® communications.


Please read through the following to make sure you crew your runner within the race rules:


WHERE TO SUPPORT

Support crews may provide assistance and aid to runners at the following Aid Stations and Timing Points only: Aid Station Signal Hill, Aid Station Kloofnek, Aid Station Llandudno, Aid Station Hout Bay, Aid Station Kalk Bay, Timing Point Black Hill, Aid Station Simonstown, Aid Station Kommetjie, Aid Station Noordhoek, Aid Station Alphen Trail, and Aid Station UCT.


Support crews are not allowed at the following Aid Stations and Timing Points: Timing Point Platteklip Gorge, Aid Station Table Mountain (Scouts hut), Aid Station Rocket Road, Timing Point Silvermine, Timing Point Kleinplaas Dam, Timing Point Constantia Glen, Timing Point Nursery Ravine, Timing Point Dead Mans Tree or anywhere else along the route. 


PARKING & TRAVELING

Support crews are to park in designated areas only. Crews must never park in such a way as to block traffic, access to the trail, Aid Station or Timing Point, or other parked cars.


ON COURSE & RACE VILLAGE

Littering is strictly prohibited anywhere on the course.
