Dear Trail Runners,
On behalf of the UTCT team, we hope that you and your loved ones are keeping safe and well. The trail event landscape has been altered considerably over the past few months and all events have been impacted, with most of them either being postponed until further notice or cancelled. We have all been affected in so many different ways and, as the weeks go by, we are coming to terms with the many challenges that lie ahead as lockdown is lifted, both locally and internationally.
The UTCT team is currently working from home and we remain committed to doing our part to follow the recommendations of the SA government and authorities around the globe. The health and well-being of the trail community and our community is our main concern.
We realise how frustrating this is for you but we are working behind the scenes to put everything together for 28 and 29 November 2020. At this stage, we don’t know what will happen but we are working in consultation with the Western Cape Government and as soon as we receive any updates these will be communicated.
You have inspired us with your unusual and novel ways to stay fit and healthy during lockdown. Firstly it was all the loops around your gardens and apartments, and then we watched with interest as you explored all the streets and alleys of your respective neighbourhoods. Finally, the trails were opened and we are all grateful to get back to the mountains again.
Thank you for your support, your patience and understanding during these uncertain times. We promise to keep you posted on any UTCT event developments as and when they unfold.
Keep moving, keep inspiring and keep healthy!
